MyLovely AI review: custom characters, subscriptions and token costs

Independent editorial for adults. Some links may earn us a commission. Check current terms, price, and availability at the named provider before paying.
Billing rail: MyLovely splits a term subscription from token top-ups. Both settle at card checkout, not at a betting cashier. The premium FAQ says the statement may show a generic digital-services or processor name; Visa or Mastercard can appear on that receipt.
MyLovely is worth a look if you want one fictional companion that can move across chat, still images, and short video without switching apps. The part that decides whether it is worth paying for is not the character gallery. It is the split between a time-based subscription and a token meter that still runs after you subscribe.
Review method — 11 September 2026. We opened the public premium page, the 2257 compliance statement, homepage FAQ copy about deleting chats and media, and in-site FAQ answers on cancel and billing descriptors. A U.S. referral-route check in the 6 September 2026 pass reached the named brand. We did not purchase a plan, complete age verification, or test cancellation or deletion inside a logged-in account.
Continue to the live product through the verified hop: MyLovely via NeonCritic. Write down the plan name, the token grant, the amount due today, and the renewal term from that screen, not from a third-party table.
Product shape: builder plus more than one format
The official site presents ready-made characters and a builder with appearance, personality, and voice choices. Browser access, chat, voice messages, images, and video are all advertised. The 2257 statement is unusually direct for this category: MyLovely.ai says it is an AI-generated content platform, that depicted models are not real people, and that it treats itself as exempt from 18 U.S.C. 2257 record-keeping on that basis. That is a content-origin claim. It is not a privacy guarantee, and it is not a license to upload photos of a real person who did not consent.
Homepage FAQ copy says you can start free, that subscriptions unlock more generations and faster speeds, that you can cancel or change plan at any time, and that you can delete chats and media from the account. A separate FAQ block says conversations are encrypted in transit and that the operator does not sell personal data. Those sentences are useful as a checklist. They are not a penetration test. “Encrypted in transit” is not the same as a proven at-rest design, and “delete from your account” is not the same as a documented wipe of backups.
The premium page: subscription, trial, and token packs
The live premium page on 11 September 2026 showed three term tabs (1 Month, 3 Months, 12 Months) and at least three commercial objects:
- Starter at $0, labeled forever free, with base models, access to video creation, save-and-share images, and 1 character generation.
- Premium Plus, shown on the 12-month tab as $6.00/mo with “Billed $71.96 every year,” listing exclusive models, 450 tokens per month, text-prompt characters, unlimited free chat, custom prompts, private generations, no watermarks, priority queue, batch generations, and character collections.
- Trial Access at $2.99 for 2 days, with full Premium features, instant access, and cancel anytime.
Under those sits Instant Top-up: 150 tokens at $9.99, then larger packs at 300, 800, and 2,000 tokens with their own listed prices. Token purchases are presented as a separate pay-with-card action, not as the subscription itself.
Two budgeting rules follow. First, paying for access does not mean every image or video is included; the 450-token monthly line is the generation budget on the Premium Plus card we saw. Second, the Starter plan’s “1 Character generation” cap is a real product limit, not a soft suggestion. If the reason you would subscribe is a custom character plus weekly video, count those actions against the token grant before you pick a term.
Third-party write-ups still quote older Premium / Premium Plus monthly starting prices that do not match the 12-month Premium Plus card on the official page. That is why this review refuses to average them. The official page is the snapshot; checkout is the authority.
Cancel, tokens after cancel, and the statement text
Premium-page FAQ: unused tokens roll over to the next month if you have an active subscription, and they remain available as long as the subscription stays active. Cancel is described as available at any time from account settings, with Premium features running to the end of the current billing period. In-site help elsewhere names the path more tightly: Settings → Billing → subscription cancellation, before the renewal date.
Read the rollover sentence in reverse. If tokens remain only while the subscription is active, cancel is the event that should make you spend or lose them. We did not test the actual expiry. Screenshot the token balance on the cancel-confirmation day.
On the billing descriptor, the premium FAQ says transactions will typically appear as a generic descriptor related to digital services or the payment processor name, without the website name. Other MyLovely help pages are more cautious and say the exact descriptor depends on the provider. Those two sentences can both be true. The only verification is the first receipt. If you do not recognize a charge, match amount and date in Settings and contact [email protected]. Do not send full card numbers in that email.
Delete is still not cancel
Cancel stops the rebill and, per the FAQ, leaves Premium running until the period ends. Deleting chats and media is a separate in-account action described on the homepage. Deleting the whole account is not spelled out as a labeled control on the pages we opened. If you cannot find it, ask support whether a deletion request removes character cards, chat history, generated media, and billing records, and whether any of those remain in backups. Keep the cancel confirmation and the deletion confirmation as two files.
Use an invented character and a non-sensitive first conversation. A polished preview image is one part of the product; the conversation style and the delete controls are the rest.
Who should shortlist it, and who should skip
Shortlist MyLovely for mixed chat-and-media use if you will do the token arithmetic against a real weekly list of images and clips. Skip it if you need this review to certify generation quality, if you want a single price that never moves between the 1-month and 12-month tabs, or if you will not track tokens separately from the subscription. If character browsing matters more than building, compare DreamCompanion. For the arithmetic, use the subscription-versus-token worksheet.
Cons / limitations
- Subscription and tokens are two meters. Unlimited chat on Premium Plus does not mean unlimited video; the 450-token monthly grant is the generation budget on the card we saw, and extra packs are a third purchase.
- Token rollover is explicitly tied to an active subscription. Cancel may orphan unused tokens. We did not observe the expiry clock.
- Account-level deletion is thinner in public copy than chat-and-media deletion. Cancel is documented (Settings → Billing); a full wipe of the profile is not a photographed control in this desk check.
Desk metrics (11 September 2026)
Timed public walk: premium page in under 2 minutes. Official card listed a 2 days trial SKU, 450 tokens per month, and a $2.99 trial price. Token top-up starts at 150 tokens.
- Premium page objects counted: free Starter, term-tab Premium Plus, 2-day trial SKU, and four token top-up packs.
- Token grant printed on the 12-month Premium Plus card: 450 / month, plus unlimited free chat.
- Cancel path named in help: Settings → Billing, access until period end.
- Delete: chats and media described as user-deletable; full account deletion not documented as a labeled button on the pages opened.
- Billing descriptor: generic digital-services / processor-name claim on the premium FAQ; verify on the first receipt.
- USD amounts above are copied from the official premium page snapshot. Confirm live checkout.
FAQ
If I subscribe, do I still need tokens?
Yes, if you use generation features. The Premium Plus card we opened includes a monthly token grant and lists unlimited chat as a separate line. Top-up packs exist for people who burn the grant.
How do I cancel?
Help copy says Settings → Billing, before renewal. Premium access normally continues until the paid period ends. That click does not, by itself, delete chats or media.
What will my statement say?
The premium FAQ claims a generic digital-services or processor name. Other help pages say it depends on the provider. Screenshot checkout and the first receipt and compare.
